Lync Quality & Speed Tests
Test 1 - Ports and Speed
This Lync test takes less than 10 seconds to activate and will run for about 3 minutes. It will test the open firewall ports required to run Hosted Lync, and it carries out some basic quality tests to indicate if the line that you are currently using is capable of delivering a high quality voice service using Lync. Organisations often assume that high bandwidth also means high quality, and in fact the opposite is often the case.
When this test is complete, take a screenshot of the summary (as below) and click on the "view text" link; email the screenshot and the text to us at email@example.com.
Test 2 - Call Quality
This Lync test takes less than 30 seconds to activate and will run for 24 hours and simulate Lync calls on your network, so whatever PC you run this on must be left on overnight. It will carry out a more comprehensive quality test over a period of time to give the Strencom engineers a better understanding of the quality of your connection. Organisations often assume that high bandwidth also means high quality, and in fact the opposite is often the case. Its is especially the case for low to mid cost connectivity types, such as ADSL, Cable and Wireless.
