Strencom wins EUR100K connectivity contract with QUMAS 

o Bandwidth to increase five-fold, enabling more efficient flow of voice and data traffic

Strencom, one of Ireland’s fastest growing providers of hosting and data connectivity services, has announced that it has won the EUR100,000 contract to deliver high volume bandwidth and IP connectivity to QUMAS Software.  Strencom will upgrade QUMAS’ current capacity from two megabits to ten megabits per second for very little additional cost.  The additional bandwidth is set to improve the speeds at which QUMAS’ branches can communicate with each other.

Established more than ten years ago, QUMAS, the leading developer of governance, risk and compliance solutions, is headquartered in Cork.  The company also has offices in North America and London.   Its workforce has doubled in the past twelve months and projected future developments created the need for higher speed communications services.  Strencom also connects QUMAS into the MANs, (Metropolitan Area Networks) the state’s high speed broadband infrastructure, which enables faster and more reliable connectivity across Ireland.  Strencom competed against a number of other suppliers to secure the contract.

The additional bandwidth significantly increases QUMAS’ connection speeds, enabling it to deal more efficiently with the flow of voice and electronic data into and out of the company.   It will also allow faster connection speeds to each of its sites, improving employees’ capabilities to work on shared documents between international branches, thus increasing productivity. 

As part of the deal with Strencom, QUMAS will also avail of IP technology, which will facilitate free phone calls between each of the company’s sites. It also means that external calls can be made to and from anywhere in the world for the price of a local call.  The IP phones will be provided by JACC IT, a Cork based IT services provider.  JACC IT specialises in providing tailor-made, cost effective IT solutions for SMEs.   Services include database administration, project management and systems administration.  Padraig Conway, director at JACC IT said, “Free calls between sites will significantly reduce phone bills for QUMAS, particularly as they have a number of branches located internationally.”
