STRENCOM CLIMBS THE RANKS IN DELOITTE FAST 50
Strencom, one of Ireland’s fastest growing providers of hosting and data connectivity services, has once again been named among the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 – a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Ireland. This is the second year in a row the Cork company has been placed, climbing 16 places on its 2004 debut. The final ranking was announced last night during an awards ceremony in the BBC Studio, Belfast.
The awards are based on percentage turnover during the past 5 years and companies must meet specific criteria in order to be eligible. In the past 12 months, Strencom has increased its customer base by 400% and is currently in the process of doubling its workforce in order to meet the increased demand.
Tim Murphy, Managing Director of Strencom attributes the company’s growth to a number of factors, “We have continued to build on our reputation for quality and speed of service. We offer ever-shorter lead times for delivering service to new customers and today we are fulfilling 85% of broadband orders in 2-5 business days. We are also increasing the range of services we can offer to customers through constantly developing and introducing new products and services.”
Strencom has a reputation for innovation and some of its recent launches include the Cork fibre-optic network, the international wholesale network with links to European countries including the UK and Germany and the Cork and Dublin wireless networks which provide access to its low-cost Cork-Dublin leased line services.
David O’Flanagan, Partner with Deloitte, Dublin, commented, “"We are delighted to see the Technology Fast 50 go from strength to strength and tonight's finalists provide us with a great barometer to assess the state of the emerging technology sector in Ireland. Performance indicators from this year's list are very positive, representing an impressive average increase in revenue of almost 190 per cent on last year."
