Internet IP Leased Line
at a glance
When you need a high level of availability, low latency and the same upload and download speeds, an IP Leased Line is sometimes the only option. It is often referred to as an Internet Leased Line. Delivered over traditional copper, it is now mostly where other Next Generation Network (NGN) services such as fibre or SDSL are not available.
An IP Leased Line will consist of two elements; the "local tail", and the IP Port. The local tail is usually sourced from the incumbent provider such as BT or Eircom, and will range in speed from 64K to 2Mb. Strencom has wholesale relationships with both these companies and manages the process from end to end.
The IP Port or Internet Port gives your organisation the access to the Internet over the local, and now you have you Internet IP Leased Line. Delivery time varies between 6 to 12 weeks. While many operators will promise delivery earlier, it is almost certain that the average delivery time will be 7 weeks, therefore it is important to order well in advance.
